Professional Background
Professional BackgroundDr Michael T. Morris II, MD (a.k.a. Dr. Mike) is a board certified cardiologist and is also a nationally recognized author, speaker, and consultant. He is also a media expert who promotes comprehensive health improvement, with an emphasis on heart and vascular disease prevention. Dr. Mike helps patients individually and in groups and provides health educational instruction to transform lives.
He is a down-to-earth physician that goes above and beyond to provide the greatest good for his patients. The synergy of medical excellence, great bedside manner, and a sense of humor have been instrumental in his mission to enhance the lives of his patients.
Prior to joining Atlanta Heart Specialists, he has worked in academics as well as private practice, having served as an Assistant Professor of Cardiology at Emory University School of Medicine and also creating a multi-specialty medical practice and a clinical research institute.
Dr. Mike also shares medical expertise through public speaking and his popular social media resources. His mission is to improve the overall health and well being of patients with an integrative approach to healthcare with a strong focus on prevention, using the latest in technology and care delivery models to further improve the convenience of healthcare.
Dr. Mike earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Psychology from Vanderbilt University, obtained his Doctorate of Medicine from Morehouse School of Medicine, and completed training in Internal Medicine at Mount Auburn Hospital - Harvard Medical School, Cardiovascular Disease at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY, and Advanced Cardiac Imaging at St Lukes Roosevelt - Columbia University in New York, NY.
